JOHANNESBURG — In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport: South Africa (CILTSA) will host a high-impact virtual engagement titled “Give | Gain | Grow: Stronger Together” on Saturday, 7 March.
The 90-minute online session forms part of CILTSA’s sustained Women Empowerment focus — a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating leadership development, professional growth and systemic inclusion across the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors.
Building a Circular Economy of Support
More than a commemorative event, the webinar positions collaboration as a competitive advantage in an industry undergoing rapid technological, operational and structural change.
“This event is a vital platform for fostering the collaboration needed to drive our industry forward,” says Shevon Kotiah CMILT, Brand Ambassador for CILTSA. “By creating a space where women can share expertise and resources, we aren’t just empowering individuals; we are strengthening the entire logistics, transport and supply chain ecosystem.” The session’s core philosophy centres on moving beyond isolated achievements toward what organisers describe as a “circular economy of support” — where mentorship, access and shared expertise create measurable, sustainable industry growth.

Momentum Toward September Conference
The March webinar also serves as a strategic precursor to CILTSA’s flagship Women in Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain Conference, scheduled for 18 September. Now entering its fifth year, the conference has become a cornerstone platform for advancing gender equity within the sector.
The 7 March session will conclude with a collective pledge, encouraging participants to commit to at least one tangible action throughout March in support of women in the industry — reinforcing the principle that empowerment must translate into measurable outcomes.
