JOHANNESBURG, 21 October 2026 – Unlimited WalkFEST is preparing to bring thousands of people together in a celebration of wellness, purpose and human connection as the popular community experience returns to Johannesburg on 20 March 2027, targeting 5,000 participants for its fifth anniversary edition.

Set to take place at James & Ethel Gray Park, the 2027 event will be held under the theme “Walk Your Why”, encouraging participants to reflect on their personal journeys, embrace healthier lifestyles and reconnect with the reasons that inspire them to keep moving forward.

What began as a shared walking experience has grown over the past five years into a community-driven wellness movement, bringing people together through physical activity, reflection, meaningful conversations and a collective commitment to personal development.

The milestone edition aims to build on that growth by creating a welcoming space where individuals can celebrate their progress, discover new motivation and recognise that wellbeing is a journey best supported by community.

At the heart of the 2027 theme is the understanding that everyone has a reason for taking the next step, whether it is a personal promise, a fresh beginning, a spiritual commitment, a loved one or the decision to prioritise their own wellbeing.

Through “Walk Your Why”, participants will be encouraged to identify what matters most to them and carry that intention beyond the event itself.

Mpoomy Ledwaba champions accessible wellness

Mpoomy Ledwaba, founder of Wisdom & Wellness, says Unlimited WalkFEST was established to demonstrate that wellbeing does not have to begin with complicated routines or ambitious lifestyle changes.

Instead, something as simple as walking can become a meaningful starting point for personal transformation, especially when people come together to encourage and support one another.

“You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, the first step is simply choosing to show up for yourself. Walk Your Why asks each person to remember what they are walking towards and to move with that intention,” Ledwaba said.

“When thousands of us do that together, walking becomes more than exercise. It becomes connection, celebration and a reminder that none of us must pursue wellbeing alone. We want every person to leave Unlimited WalkFEST feeling supported, encouraged and equipped to keep choosing themselves long after the day is over.”

Her message reflects the broader philosophy behind Wisdom & Wellness, which seeks to make personal growth and holistic wellbeing more accessible through shared experiences, practical learning and community support.

The initiative places emphasis on five interconnected areas of wellbeing: spiritual, physical, relational, mental and financial health.

By bringing these dimensions together, Unlimited WalkFEST aims to encourage participants to view wellness as an ongoing lifestyle choice rather than a destination reserved for a select few.

Five years of community, growth and connection

The fifth anniversary marks a significant chapter for Unlimited WalkFEST and the wider Wisdom & Wellness community.

Over the years, the experience has developed around the idea that personal growth becomes more achievable when people have access to supportive environments in which they can learn, share experiences and celebrate progress together.

The 2027 gathering is expected to combine movement, reflection, conversation and celebration, with the ambition of welcoming 5,000 participants to James & Ethel Gray Park.

Beyond the physical activity, the event’s central message is one of belonging: people may have different motivations for participating, but they can share the experience of taking intentional steps towards healthier, more fulfilling lives.

The Johannesburg gathering will also provide an opportunity to strengthen connections within the community while introducing new participants to the accessible, collective approach to wellness that has shaped the initiative.

Wisdom & Wellness app extends the experience beyond event day

In addition to the annual gathering, the Wisdom & Wellness app is expected to go live ahead of Unlimited WalkFEST 2027, providing Private Members and GalPals with a central platform to connect, prepare for the event and maintain their relationships with the community afterwards.

The app will offer access to Sunday Walking Club meeting points across more than 15 cities, enabling members to find local walking groups, connect with City Heroes and coordinate activities through city-based group chats.

It will also bring together the community’s monthly experiences, including shared fasting and prayer, daily devotions, expert-led Tools Tuesday sessions, community conversations, events and links to official Wisdom & Wellness podcast channels.

The digital platform is intended to extend the spirit of Unlimited WalkFEST beyond a single day, allowing participants to maintain their momentum, access learning opportunities and build relationships through ongoing community activities.

By combining in-person gatherings with digital engagement, Wisdom & Wellness aims to make continued participation and personal development more accessible throughout the year.
