More than 130 exhibitors, 240 display tables and millions of LEGO pieces will transform the shopping centre into a world of creativity, engineering and imagination on 24 and 25 October.
PRETORIA, 21 October 2026 – LEGO enthusiasts, collectors, master builders and families are set for a weekend of brick-built brilliance as Menlyn Park Shopping Centre prepares to host Brickfair 2026, billed by organisers as Africa’s largest LEGO fan event, on 24 and 25 October.
Presented in partnership with Great Yellow Brick and Brickfair, the two-day event will transform the shopping centre’s passageways surrounding the LEGO Certified Store into an expansive showcase of creativity, craftsmanship and imagination.
Featuring more than 130 exhibitors and over 240 display tables, Brickfair 2026 will bring together builders from across South Africa and beyond to showcase extraordinary creations assembled from millions of LEGO pieces.
From intricate cityscapes and engineering-inspired structures to fantasy worlds and pop culture recreations, the exhibition promises visitors an opportunity to explore the versatility of LEGO building while celebrating the artistry and technical skill behind each creation.
The event is expected to appeal to audiences of all ages, offering an engaging experience for dedicated collectors, experienced builders, curious newcomers and families seeking a distinctive weekend outing in Pretoria.
Creativity takes centre stage
A major attraction at Brickfair 2026 will be the impressive scale and diversity of the exhibits, highlighting how a familiar childhood building toy has evolved into a medium for artistic expression, design and engineering.
Visitors will be able to explore elaborate builds and imaginative displays created by enthusiasts who use LEGO bricks to bring complex ideas and miniature worlds to life.
Members of South African LEGO User Groups, including zaLUG and JoburgLUG, will contribute to the event, showcasing the talent and dedication of the country’s building community.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the exhibition provides an opportunity to celebrate the patience, problem-solving and technical thinking involved in constructing intricate models from individual bricks.
For younger visitors, the displays could also spark an interest in design, architecture and engineering, demonstrating how creativity and practical skills can intersect through play.
Interactive activities for the whole family
Brickfair 2026 will extend beyond the exhibition floor, with interactive activities designed to encourage visitors to participate in the building experience themselves.
LEGO South Africa will host dedicated play areas featuring free building activities, colouring-in stations and hands-on LEGO experiences for children.
Aspiring builders will also have the opportunity to test their skills through build competitions taking place throughout the weekend.
One of the event’s key attractions will be the official Brickfair Build Competition, where entrants will present their creations for judging on Saturday, with winners announced during Sunday’s prize-giving ceremony.
The competition is expected to provide a platform for builders to demonstrate their originality, construction techniques and imaginative approaches to LEGO design.
Those interested in exhibiting their creations or entering the competition can obtain registration information through Brickfair South Africa.

Menlyn Park strengthens its experiential retail offering
For Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, hosting Brickfair forms part of its broader strategy to create memorable experiences that extend beyond conventional shopping.
Nisha Kemraj, General Manager of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, said events such as Brickfair help introduce engaging activities that encourage customers to spend more time at the centre while connecting with brands and retailers in new ways.
“At Menlyn Park, our focus is on continually enhancing the shopping experience by bringing meaningful and engaging activations to our customers,” Kemraj said.
She added that Brickfair had become an anticipated fixture on the centre’s annual calendar because of its broad appeal, attracting everyone from dedicated LEGO enthusiasts to families looking for a distinctive day out.
Hosting the event also reinforces Menlyn Park’s positioning as a destination for entertainment, lifestyle experiences and family-oriented activities.
The partnership with Great Yellow Brick and Brickfair reflects the growing role of experiential events in creating differentiated retail environments, where visitors can enjoy activities and attractions alongside traditional shopping.
Building a stronger LEGO community
Willi Badenhorst, one of the organisers of Brickfair, said the partnership with Menlyn Park remained important in growing South Africa’s LEGO-building community and introducing the hobby to wider audiences.
“Together, we are bringing Africa’s largest LEGO fan event to thousands of visitors while celebrating the incredible artistry that can be achieved with LEGO bricks. Menlyn provides the perfect environment for builders, families and enthusiasts to come together and share their passion,” Badenhorst said.
The event brings together different generations of builders, creating an environment where established enthusiasts can showcase their work while newcomers discover the possibilities of the hobby.
By combining large-scale exhibitions, interactive play areas and competitive building, Brickfair aims to make LEGO culture accessible to a broader audience while celebrating the creativity of its community.
