Johannesburg, South Africa – 17 November 2025
This International Men’s Day, ZOR — Johannesburg’s home of refined dining and soulful gatherings — is redefining what it means to be a man in the modern world. In partnership with Husband Ye Country, ZOR presents “The Gentlemen’s Fire – An Exotic Braai Experience”, an intimate, fire-lit celebration of courage, vulnerability, leadership, and community.
Taking place on 19 November at ZOR in Dainfern Square, the experience invites South Africa’s modern gentlemen to step away from the world’s pressures and gather around the universal symbol of fellowship: the fire.
A Night Where Smoke Meets Soul
Hosted by the charismatic and deeply insightful Sir Bongani Luvalo, The Gentlemen’s Fire brings together influential men from all walks of life — entrepreneurs, fathers, cultural voices, athletes, and professionals — to share food, stories, and real conversations about the realities of manhood today.
In a society where men often lead in silence, this event offers a rare space to speak candidly about purpose, healing, responsibility, and the legacies men hope to build.
Conversations That Go Beyond the Surface
Beneath the warmth of ZOR’s signature outdoor fire pits, guests will experience “Conversations by the Fire” — a curated series of talks from respected leaders, each bringing a deeply personal lens to topics that shape modern masculinity:
- Dr. Mzamo Mashito – “The Quiet Battle”
A moving examination of men’s mental health, emotional honesty, and the importance of inner healing. - Andile Zulu – “The Legacy Within”
A powerful reflection on leadership, fatherhood, service, and building a life anchored in purpose. - Adv. Sikhakhane – “The Law of Legacy”
An exploration of protecting generational wealth, safeguarding family futures, and the responsibility of planning ahead. - Bongi Mbonambi (Springboks)
A celebration of sport as a force for unity, discipline, patriotism, and brotherhood in South Africa. - Mbeki Khumalo (RMB)
Insights on financial resilience and redefining leadership in an age of economic and cultural transformation.
Guided by Sir Bongani Luvalo, these dialogues promise honesty, vulnerability, and deeply human connection — qualities too often hidden behind stoicism.
“We wanted to create a space where men could put down their armour — no titles, no bravado, just truth. Around the fire, we remember that vulnerability is not weakness; it’s where real brotherhood begins.”
— Sir Bongani Luvalo, Host
A Culinary Journey of Fire and Finesse
Complementing the conversations is The Exotic Braai Table, a chef-curated feast that elevates the South African braai to an art form. ZOR’s Executive Chef has designed a menu that blends flame, finesse, and African luxury, featuring:
- Flame-seared ostrich skewers
- Braai-spiced crayfish
- Wood-fired seasonal vegetables
- A smoky dark chocolate mousse finale
Signature cocktails — including The Ember Old-Fashioned — complete the experience.
A Space for Reflection and Legacy
The evening will also feature “Letters to My Younger Self”, an intimate reflective moment where guests write personal notes that will become part of ZOR’s Men’s Wall of Legacy — a living archive of wisdom, honesty, and shared experience.
The night ends with a candlelit toast led by Sir Bongani Luvalo:
“To the men who rise, lead, and love without applause. Tonight, may our fires burn not for ego, but for legacy.”
