FlySafair is taking affordable travel to new heights with the launch of two direct routes from Lanseria International Airport to the Eastern Cape. Starting 1 November 2025, passengers can enjoy convenient access to East London’s King Phalo Airport and Gqeberha’s Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport — eliminating the need to travel through OR Tambo International.
The new schedule will include six flights per week to East London and seven weekly flights to Gqeberha, with ticket prices starting at R770. Tickets are available now through the FlySafair website and mobile app.
“These new routes make it easier than ever for Gauteng residents to reach the Eastern Cape,” said Kirby Gordon, FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Whether travelling for family, holidays, or business, customers can now look forward to affordable fares and reliable service right from Lanseria.”
More Destinations Coming Soon
The Eastern Cape expansion is part of FlySafair’s broader push to grow its domestic footprint. On 2 October, the airline will introduce a new route from Cape Town to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, providing direct access to the heart of South Africa’s safari country. Additionally, from 1 October, the Cape Town–Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport route will move to daily flights, giving travellers more flexibility when planning their trips.
Connecting South Africans
By broadening its route network, FlySafair is helping to make travel more accessible, while boosting tourism and supporting local economies. The airline’s ongoing mission is clear: to connect South Africans to the places and people they love, with affordable pricing, greater convenience, and trusted service.
With these latest additions, FlySafair continues to lead the way in reshaping domestic air travel — one new route at a time.
