South African sport is about to step into a new league of spectacle and entertainment — one defined by energy, culture, and world-class sporting experiences. In a landmark announcement, South African Breweries (SAB) has confirmed that Castle Lite has been named the Official Partner of LIV Golf South Africa, cementing one of the most notable partnerships in the nation’s contemporary sporting history.

For more than 130 years, SAB has been woven into the fabric of South Africa — not only as a brewer, but as a cultural institution shaping community, sport and celebration. From cricket to football, from rugby to the courts and stages of world-renowned events, SAB’s presence has long been synonymous with unforgettable sporting moments.

Now, with Castle Lite as the flagbearer, the company enters a new fairway.

A Legacy Meets the Future of Global Golf

LIV Golf has redefined the game — fewer barriers, more entertainment, and an atmosphere where fierce competition meets festival energy. It is modern, youthful, unpredictable — and Castle Lite fits that equation like a glove.

From Castle Lite Unlocks to partnerships with SVNS, SA20, and the Basketball Africa League, the brand has consistently blurred the line between sport, music, entertainment, and lifestyle. Golf is next — and it’s about to get even colder, louder, and more unforgettable.

“Sport has always been one of the most powerful ways to bring South Africans together,”
said Vaughan Croeser, Vice-President of Marketing at SAB.
“Partnering with LIV creates the kind of immersive, world-class fan experience that reflects who we are — energetic, innovative, and proudly South African.”

Croeser notes that LIV has “energised global golf”, and that Castle Lite’s presence will amplify the South African edition — on the grass, in the stands, and long after the final putt drops.

Government Backs Deal as Catalyst for Tourism, Talent & Economic Growth

The partnership has drawn enthusiastic support from government, who recognise its potential far beyond sport.

“This is exactly the kind of partnership that pushes South African sport forward,”
said Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie.
“It brings visitors, inspires youth, and positions South Africa on the world stage.”

McKenzie, who has witnessed the excitement around South Africa’s LIV team Stinger GC abroad, believes the 2026 tournament could reshape the economic and cultural footprint of the sport locally.

Introducing The Lion’s Den: The Party Hole of Africa

At the heart of the tournament will be a feature unlike anything traditional golf is known for — the buzzing, stadium-style LIV “party hole”.

South Africa’s edition will be none other than the 17th at Steyn City, now renamed The Lion’s Den — a place where golf meets music meets festival atmosphere. Crowd noise is encouraged. Celebration is expected. Energy is mandatory.

It is designed for one thing:
🎉 an unforgettable fan experience.

Global Stars. Local Pride. A Festival of Sport.

LIV Golf South Africa takes place 19–22 March 2026 at The Club at Steyn City, welcoming superstars including:

🏌️‍♂️ Louis Oosthuizen
🏌️‍♂️ Bryson DeChambeau
🏌️‍♂️ Jon Rahm

…alongside elite entertainment, festival-scale production, and the most electrifying atmosphere golf in South Africa has ever seen.

More Than a Sponsorship — A Cultural Shift

This is not just a partnership.
It’s a statement.

A declaration that South Africa is ready for a new generation of global sport — immersive, high-energy, youth-aligned and culturally relevant. Castle Lite is not just branding a tournament. It is refreshing it, redefining it, and helping usher in a future where golf is as thrilling for the fans as it is for the players.

The countdown to The Lion’s Den starts now.
And the country is ready
