The 7 November gathering will create a space for honest conversations, personal growth, business development and meaningful connections among women from diverse backgrounds.
SOWETO, JOHANNESBURG — Women seeking meaningful connections, personal development and a supportive environment for honest conversations will have an opportunity to come together at the Tumi Online Sisterhood Retreat in Soweto next month.
Scheduled for Saturday, 7 November 2026, at the YWCA Hall in Dube, the retreat aims to create a safe and welcoming space where women can share experiences, explore personal and professional challenges, and draw strength from one another without fear of judgement.
Organised by Tumi Online under the theme “Suited” and guided by the motto “Connect. Uplift. Empower,” the event will run from 11:00 to 16:00, bringing together women from different professions and backgrounds for discussions on wellness, relationships, entrepreneurship, personal growth and purpose.
The initiative comes against the backdrop of the multiple responsibilities many women navigate, from building careers and businesses to raising families and managing personal relationships.
For founder and visionary Tumi Nkosi, the retreat is an opportunity to encourage women to move beyond the expectation that they must always appear strong, creating room for vulnerability, mutual understanding and genuine support.

Creating space for honest conversations
For many women, discussing personal difficulties can be challenging when they fear being misunderstood, judged or exposed through gossip.
The Sisterhood Retreat seeks to address this by encouraging open dialogue in an environment where participants can share their experiences, learn from others and recognise that they do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
Rather than placing pressure on attendees to have every aspect of their lives figured out, the gathering aims to encourage women to embrace their individual journeys while identifying opportunities for growth.
The programme will include interactive empowerment sessions, self-care activities, networking opportunities and discussions led by speakers with experience in coaching, entrepreneurship, media, healthcare and business strategy.
Through these engagements, participants will have an opportunity to exchange ideas, gain practical insights and build relationships that can extend beyond the event.
Bringing diverse voices to the conversation
The retreat will feature a line-up of speakers whose professional experiences span personal development, business, health and media.
Among those expected to contribute is MC Angie Diale, an author, life coach and radio personality, alongside Bongi Mlotshwa, a businesswoman, podcaster, mentor and award-winning make-up artist.
Mathapelo Falatsa, an author, business accountant, tax practitioner and founder, will also be part of the programme.
The speaker line-up further includes Thato Ditshego, a physiotherapist; Dikeledi Liz Odd, a business strategist and speaker; and Maphathi Ndlovu-Sithole, a community experience manager with a background in media and advertising.
Their varied areas of expertise are expected to contribute perspectives on personal well-being, professional development, entrepreneurship and navigating the demands of everyday life.
Live performances by Tenacity and Lady GP will add an entertainment element to the gathering.

Building connections beyond networking
While professional networking forms part of the programme, the retreat’s broader ambition is to encourage relationships rooted in trust, respect and mutual support.
The initiative recognises that women have different aspirations, responsibilities and life experiences, but can still find common ground through shared conversations and a willingness to learn from one another.
By creating opportunities for women to connect across professional and personal backgrounds, Tumi Online hopes to foster relationships that offer encouragement during difficult periods and celebrate individual achievements.
The retreat also places emphasis on self-care and personal investment, encouraging attendees to make time for their own well-being alongside their responsibilities to families, businesses and communities.
