A major new addition to South Africa’s live music calendar is set to make its debut this winter, with Zakes Bantwini confirmed as the headline act for the inaugural Scatterlings Music Festival 2026.
Taking place on 1 August at Huddle Park, the festival promises a high-impact, one-night-only celebration of South African music, culture, and identity—anchored by one of the country’s most globally recognised artists.
A Headliner With Global Impact
Fresh off international acclaim, including his Grammy-winning contribution to Bayethe, Bantwini has solidified his reputation as a genre-defying force, seamlessly blending electronic, afro-pop, and dance music into a signature sound that resonates across borders.
“Johannesburg has always held a special place in my journey,” Bantwini said. “This city pushes you, inspires you, and reminds you why you started. To headline Scatterlings here, in front of a home crowd, is something I don’t take lightly.”
