Taking place over the weekend of 10–12 April 2026, the organisers of ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’ are raising the bar once again – not only by delivering a world-class Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon (TTOM) experience for every entrant, but also by offering Blue Number Club (BNC) members an exceptional range of new rewards and benefits designed to elevate their race weekend even further. When the starting gun fires at the 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon, it will once again signal more than the beginning of a race. It will mark the continuation of a legacy — one built by thousands of determined runners, and guarded by a select group whose dedication has helped shape one of the world’s most iconic endurance events.
Taking place from 10 to 12 April 2026, the organisers of “the world’s most beautiful marathon” have announced an elevated and deeply considered recognition programme for members of the Blue Number Club (BNC) — the custodians of the race’s history, spirit, and soul.
A Badge of Honour Earned, Not Bought
The Blue Number Club is among the most respected honours in South African road running. Unlike conventional loyalty programmes, BNC status cannot be purchased, applied for, or fast-tracked. It must be earned — step by step, year by year.
A Blue Number is awarded to runners who have:
- Completed 10 Totalsports Two Oceans Ultra Marathons, Half Marathons, or Trail Runs;
- Earned five gold medals in the Ultra Marathon; or
- Won the Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon, or any Trail Run distance three times.
“There is no joining fee and no annual membership,” explains Chris Goldschmidt, Chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC. “A Blue Number is recognition of exceptional commitment and achievement. These runners are the heartbeat of this event.”

Honouring the Heart and History of the Race
For the organisers, recognising BNC members is not ceremonial — it is foundational.
“The Blue Number Club represents the heart and history of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon,” Goldschmidt adds. “Their loyalty and dedication have helped shape the legacy we celebrate today. Honouring them is essential — they remind us why this race is so special.”
That philosophy comes to life in 2026 through an enhanced suite of benefits and experiences designed to honour BNC members not just on race day, but throughout the entire race weekend.

An Elevated Experience for the Titans of the Race
From 2026 onwards, Blue Number Club members will enjoy an exclusive, premium race experience that reflects their status as the race’s living legends. Benefits include:
- Early entry access
- Free entries for runners with 25 medals or more
- Blue Number Club Dinner (Wednesday, 8 April 2026)
- Express race pack collection
- Dedicated BNC hospitality at the Expo and Finish
- Preferential seeding in a special BNC batch
- Enhanced finish-line experience
- Recognition of milestone runs
- Distinctive race numbers:
- Dark blue band for Ultra Marathon BNC members
- Light blue numbers for Half Marathon BNC members
- Yellow band for runners pursuing their 10th medal
- Exclusive BNC apparel ranges by JOMA and SWAGG
- Membership of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC
“These athletes are not only dedicated runners — they are the storytellers, tradition keepers, and living legacy of the event,” says Wade Bromfield, General Manager of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon. “Their commitment over decades has shaped the identity of this race. From 2026 onwards, we are ensuring they receive the extra-special treatment they have truly earned.”

Where Heritage Meets Innovation
While the Blue Number Club honours the past, the 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon remains firmly future-focused. All Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon, and Trail Run entrants will receive:
- An exclusive event-specific T-shirt, and
- A limited-edition TTOM-branded Versus Quarter Running Sock, included in the entry fee.
These enhancements reflect the organisers’ ongoing commitment to delivering a world-class runner experience at every level.

More Than a Race — A Living Legacy
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon is not merely an endurance event; it is a rite of passage. For Blue Number Club members, it is also a lifetime story — written across decades, medals, early mornings, and finish-line tears.
As the 2026 edition approaches, the spotlight on the Blue Number Club serves as a powerful reminder: greatness in sport is not defined only by speed, but by consistency, resilience, and loyalty.
And at the Two Oceans Marathon, those qualities run deep — just like the oceans it celebrates.
