The 2026 Totalsports Women’s Race is set to deliver an unforgettable fusion of sport, wellness, empowerment and entertainment with South African music sensation Busiswa confirmed as the headline performer for this year’s race series.

Known for her dynamic stage presence and an impressive catalogue of hits spanning Kwaito, House, Gqom, Amapiano and Afropop, Busiswa will perform live at all three race events, bringing her signature energy to Durban on 2 August, Cape Town on 9 August and Johannesburg on 16 August.

The announcement adds an exciting entertainment dimension to one of South Africa’s most celebrated women’s sporting events, which annually attracts thousands of participants who come together to celebrate fitness, sisterhood and community.

A Celebration of Women’s Strength and Wellness

For Busiswa, joining the Totalsports Women’s Race is more than just another performance opportunity. The acclaimed artist says the partnership aligns closely with her own personal journey towards health, fitness and holistic wellbeing.

“Being part of the Totalsports Women’s Race is a tremendous honour and feels like the perfect fit for me,” said Busiswa.

“I’ve been on a personal health and wellness journey that has challenged me not only as a performer, but also in terms of my physical fitness, mental wellness and overall health. The Totalsports Women’s Race celebrates women, and I love that it brings together women from across South Africa who inspire one another to live well, embrace community and take care of their bodies, minds and souls.”

Her participation reflects the event’s broader mission of encouraging women to prioritise their wellbeing while supporting one another through shared experiences and collective achievement.

More Than a Race-Day Performance

Busiswa is no stranger to captivating audiences, and she believes the unique atmosphere of the Totalsports Women’s Race creates the perfect environment for memorable celebrations.

“I feel like this is where I thrive most as a performer because the energy at the Totalsports Women’s Race is absolutely electric,” she said.

“I’m expecting plenty of singing along, dancing and women of all ages simply enjoying the moment together. After 13 years in the music industry, I’ve learned that the best memories are created when people are fully present and sharing an experience.”

Her goal, she says, is to create an atmosphere of joy, unity and celebration that extends beyond the finish line.

“My goal is to unite the crowd through music, create unforgettable moments and bring an extra dose of happiness to every event.”

Inspiring Women During Women’s Month

With all three events taking place during Women’s Month, Busiswa also shared a message of encouragement for women across South Africa.

“My Women’s Month message is simple: you are amazing for choosing you. It’s inspiring to see more and more women making their health and wellbeing a priority and striving for harmony between body, mind and soul.”

“This is an incredible time to be alive, and I encourage women to continue inspiring, elevating and innovating in their respective fields. I look forward to meeting and celebrating these remarkable women at the Totalsports Women’s Race in 2026.”

According to Nikki Crous, Head of Marketing at Totalsports, Busiswa embodies everything the race represents.

“The Totalsports Women’s Race is about celebrating women, movement, community and empowerment, and we could not think of a better artist to help bring that celebration to life than Busiswa,” said Crous.
