JOHANNESBURG, 15 September 2026 — Gaming, esports and pop culture will collide at Comic Con Africa 2026 when Telkom VS Gaming brings four days of competitive action, interactive experiences and gaming culture to the JHB Expo Centre in Nasrec from 24 to 27 September.
As Comic Con Africa celebrates its seventh edition since launching in 2018, Telkom VS Gaming will once again create a dedicated space for gamers across the spectrum — from professional esports competitors and serious enthusiasts to casual players and fans of gaming culture.
At the heart of the activation will be a series of major tournament finals, giving fans the opportunity to watch some of the country’s top players and teams compete for a combined prize pool exceeding R500,000. The competitive programme includes the Masters Counter-Strike Final, Championship Rocket League Final, HSEL Counter-Strike Final, HSEL Rocket League Final, Tekken Final and PUBG Final.
The tournaments will feature both team-based and individual competition, building towards a weekend of high-stakes finals and showcasing the depth and diversity of South Africa’s gaming ecosystem.
But the action will not be reserved for esports competitors.
Under its “For All Gamers” proposition, Telkom VS Gaming will invite Comic Con Africa visitors to get involved through a selection of free-to-play challenges, including EAFC Mobile, Kasi Rush, PUBG Mobile, EAFC and Tekken.
Players taking part will have opportunities to compete for cash prizes, Samsung devices and exclusive Telkom VS Gaming merchandise, adding a participatory dimension to the activation.
The experience will also extend to the main stage, where fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the Telkom VS Gaming Squad — Mobile Mo, Vibey Val, S-Tech and newest addition Lucky Lou — and engage with personalities helping shape the platform’s growing gaming community.
A new chapter for VS Gaming
Comic Con Africa will also provide a platform for Telkom to showcase the next phase of its gaming proposition with the introduction of VS Gaming PRO, a premium paid layer within the broader VS Gaming ecosystem.
