Bigger Field Reflects Growing Popularity
Organisers believe the increased capacity reflects the event’s remarkable growth and its appeal to participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, said the overwhelming public response has made expanding the event a natural progression.
“The response to the Boxer Super Run Durban has been phenomenal, and increasing our capacity from 5,000 to 7,000 participants is a direct reflection of the event’s growing popularity.”
“We’re excited to welcome even more runners, walkers, families and fitness enthusiasts to experience the incredible atmosphere that makes this event so special. We encourage everyone to secure their entry early, as we expect demand to be high.”
The additional 2,000 entries are expected to sell quickly, particularly given the event’s reputation for combining elite competition with an energetic festival atmosphere along Durban’s iconic beachfront.

A Race Designed for Everyone
Unlike traditional road races that primarily cater to competitive athletes, the Boxer Super Run embraces inclusivity by creating an experience suitable for everyone.
Participants can choose from multiple start waves designed to accommodate different running styles and fitness levels.
The event begins with the Open Wave at 07:00, welcoming club runners, competitive athletes, schools and participants aiming for personal best performances.
Later in the morning, the Super Social Wave transforms the event into a colourful celebration where families, charities, corporate teams and friends are encouraged to dress up, have fun and enjoy the scenic route together.
The day culminates with the highly anticipated Elite Women’s Race at 09:45, followed by the Elite Men’s Race at 10:00, where South Africa’s top athletes will battle for the prestigious titles of King and Queen of the Boxer Super Run.
