JOHANNESBURG – Jozi My Jozi has reaffirmed its commitment to creating safe, inclusive and vibrant public spaces in the inner city as it prepares for the return of its popular Main Street Sundays initiative.

The urban activation programme has become a celebrated feature of Johannesburg’s cultural calendar, transforming the city’s historic Main Street precinct into a lively gathering space where residents, visitors, families, creatives and entrepreneurs can connect, engage and experience the unique energy of the city centre.

Main Street Sundays forms part of a broader vision to reimagine public spaces, encourage community participation and showcase the rich cultural diversity that makes Johannesburg one of Africa’s most dynamic urban centres.

Through carefully curated experiences that blend art, music, food, culture and social interaction, the initiative continues to create opportunities for people from all walks of life to enjoy the city in a safe and welcoming environment.

Organisers say the programme remains focused on fostering social cohesion while supporting local businesses, artists, vendors and creative entrepreneurs who contribute to the vibrancy of the inner city economy.

“Creating accessible public spaces where people feel safe, connected and inspired is central to our mission,” Jozi My Jozi said in a statement.
