Durban, South Africa — The journey to one of South Africa’s most prestigious youth football tournaments has officially begun, with 24 talented teams booking their places in the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge eThekwini tournament following the successful completion of the regional qualifying rounds.

Held in partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA) eThekwini, the qualifiers showcased the depth of football talent emerging from communities across KwaZulu-Natal, setting the stage for an exciting tournament that continues to play a vital role in youth football development.

The Engen Knockout Challenge has earned a reputation as a proven platform for identifying and nurturing future stars, with numerous professional footballers having launched their careers through the competition. The tournament remains one of the country’s most respected youth football events, providing young players with an opportunity to compete at a high level while gaining valuable exposure.
