30 September 2026 — A new symbol of youth football excellence has been unveiled ahead of the 2026 Engen Champ of Champs, with Engen introducing a contemporary trophy that will be contested by the country’s emerging football talent this weekend.
The new trophy was unveiled on Tuesday, 29 September, at the University of Pretoria High-Performance Centre (HPC) during the official draw for the tournament, which gets underway from 2 to 4 October 2026.
Designed to reflect the evolution and growing competitiveness of the Engen Champ of Champs, the trophy combines a modern aesthetic with a strong connection to the game. At its centre is a seamlessly integrated football, symbolising the relationship between grassroots development, emerging talent and the sport itself.
More than a prize for the eventual winners, the new trophy represents the aspirations of hundreds of young footballers who use the Engen Champ of Champs as a platform to develop their abilities and take important steps in their football journeys.
The unveiling comes under this year’s tournament theme, “Where Diski Legends Start”, reinforcing the competition’s role in identifying and nurturing players with ambitions of progressing to higher levels of the game.

The 2026 edition will feature 18 teams, evenly divided between the Boys’ Under-18 and Girls’ Under-20 divisions. The teams were drawn into their respective groups during Tuesday’s event, setting up three days of competition at the High-Performance Centre in Pretoria.
Among the teams returning to the tournament are Kaizer Chiefs, who will defend their Boys’ Under-18 title, and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who return to the Girls’ Under-20 competition.
The new trophy therefore arrives at a significant point in the tournament’s development, providing a fresh piece of silverware for the next generation of players to pursue while reflecting Engen’s continued investment in youth football.
With the draw complete and the new trophy officially unveiled, attention now shifts to the pitch, where aspiring stars will compete for honours and the opportunity to etch their names into the history of the Engen Champ of Champs.
From 2 to 4 October, Pretoria becomes the stage — and the journey towards becoming a diski legend begins here. ⚽🏆
