JOHANNESBURGFirst National Bank (FNB) has strengthened its position as one of South Africa’s most influential brands after being ranked among the country’s top three most valuable brands in the 2026 Kantar BrandZ Most Valuable South African Brands rankings, while also receiving the prestigious Most Meaningfully Different Brand award.

The latest rankings place FNB among the nation’s elite brands, with its brand value increasing by an impressive 45%, rising from US$3.1 billion in 2024 to US$4.5 billion in 2026. The achievement reflects the bank’s continued investment in digital innovation, customer experience and personalised financial solutions that have strengthened customer trust and long-term loyalty.

Beyond its remarkable financial growth, FNB was recognised with Kantar’s Special Award for the Most Meaningfully Different Brand, an accolade reserved for brands that consistently deliver unique value while maintaining deep relevance in consumers’ lives.

According to Kantar, meaningful differentiation is one of the strongest indicators of sustained brand growth, customer loyalty and future market demand.
