Betway Premiership returns with blockbuster fixtures as S’bonise & Win campaign resumes

JOHANNESBURG, 12 OCTOBER 2026 — South African football supporters are gearing up for the return of domestic action as the Betway Premiership resumes on Tuesday, 13 October, following a four-week FIFA international break, with eight fixtures scheduled across the country and the popular Betway S’bonise & Win campaign returning to add another dimension to the matchday experience.

The eagerly anticipated resumption features several eye-catching encounters, including Kaizer Chiefs against Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates versus TS Galaxy, while Mamelodi Sundowns travel to face Richards Bay FC in another fixture expected to attract considerable attention.

For supporters, the return of league football also means another opportunity to turn their passion, team colours and matchday style into a potential cash prize through the S’bonise & Win initiative.

Football fever returns to the stadiums

Tuesday’s fixtures will signal the restart of the Betway Premiership after the international window, with clubs returning to league competition and supporters eager to see their teams back in action.

Kaizer Chiefs face Stellenbosch FC in a contest that promises an engaging test for both sides, while Orlando Pirates welcome TS Galaxy as the Soweto giants resume their campaign.

KwaZulu-Natal football takes centre stage as Durban City host AmaZulu FC in a provincial derby, while Richards Bay face the formidable challenge of former champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The action continues over the weekend, with four additional fixtures scheduled between Saturday and Sunday.

The return of competitive domestic football is expected to reignite the atmosphere at stadiums nationwide, with supporters once again playing a central role in creating the energy and spectacle associated with the Premiership.

S’bonise & Win puts supporters in the spotlight

Alongside the football, Betway’s S’bonise & Win campaign returns, giving eligible supporters the opportunity to win cash prizes by being selected as the best-dressed fan at televised home matches.

Introduced during the 2025/26 season, the initiative is designed to celebrate supporters who proudly represent their clubs through their colours and regalia.

According to Betway, 39 supporters have already been selected as winners since the start of the 2026/27 Premiership season, with further opportunities expected as the campaign resumes.

The initiative also seeks to strengthen the connection between clubs and their supporters by making the matchday experience about more than the action on the pitch.

Fans are encouraged to arrive in their team colours, support their clubs and embrace the atmosphere as the league enters another important phase of the season.

How supporters can qualify

To participate in S’bonise & Win, entrants must be 18 years or older, hold a valid ticket for a televised Betway Premiership fixture, wear the home team’s regalia or colours, and be a South African citizen or permanent resident.

The SuperSport outside broadcast team selects a supporter in the stands during the first 30 minutes of the match. A Betway representative then locates the selected fan and verifies their eligibility, including age and match ticket.

Participants must also be willing to appear on camera and remain sober throughout the match.

Under the campaign’s published terms, the cash prize is R10,000, increasing to R20,000 for winners with a valid and active Betway account. Each supporter may win only once during the season.

Fans should familiarise themselves with the full campaign terms and conditions before attending a match.
